Where to Eat in Rayong: TEW YUM JAM ROEN

Do you know Tom Yum Noodles?

If you’re starting to get tired of the usual Pad Thai, Tom Yum Goong, or Pad Kra Pao and want to try something a little different, let me introduce you to one of the everyday favorites in Thailand: Tom Yum Noodles.

It’s the kind of food that Thai people can eat again and again without getting bored. Believe it or not, some people can eat Tom Yum Noodles seven days in a row. Yes, it’s that good!

For me, it’s also one of the best hangover foods ever. 😂

So today, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite local noodle shops in Rayong: TEW YUM JAM ROEN.

And I swear, it’s seriously delicious.

🍜 Tom Yum Noodles

Let’s start with the classic  Tom Yum Small Rice Noodles.

The noodles are soft and chewy, served in a flavorful Tom Yum broth with a refreshing combination of sourness and spiciness. It’s spicy, tangy, and incredibly refreshing.

Just a little tip: I probably wouldn’t recommend having this as your first meal of the day or on an empty stomach, especially if you’re not used to spicy Thai food. Your stomach might not be very happy with you! 😆

Inside the bowl, you’ll find minced pork, crispy fried wontons, pork intestines, and a boiled egg.

Every ingredient comes together surprisingly well, making this simple bowl of noodles the kind of dish that can easily become your new favorite Thai comfort food.

🥟 Tossed Wontons in Spicy Thai Dressing

Next up is Tossed Wontons in Spicy Thai Dressing, or Kiao Kluk in Thai.

This is a fun little snack that feels like a fusion between Thai and Chinese flavors.

You get the spicy and tangy flavors you’d expect from Thai food, combined with a subtle sweetness inspired by Chinese cuisine.

But honestly, the star of the dish is the pork wontons. They’re seriously delicious!

If you’re visiting Rayong and want to try something beyond the usual Thai dishes, give this one a try. You won’t regret it.

🌼 Thai Chrysanthemum Tea

And of course, we need something refreshing to drink!

Thai herbal drinks are amazing, and you can forget everything you know about bitter herbal medicine. 😆

This glass of Thai Chrysanthemum Tea is light, refreshing, and perfect for cooling you down on a hot day.

Thailand is a tropical country, so you’ll find plenty of refreshing herbal drinks that locals love to enjoy in the heat.

If you’ve never tried Thai herbal drinks before, I really recommend giving them a chance. You might just find a new favorite!
